Solid yet noble in proportion, this 12th Century castlewith its distinctive four towers, sits proudly on a hill, high above the Zähringer city of Thun. The castle offers incomparable views of the mountains, city and the lake. Thun's historical museum is housed in the five large halls of the tower.
The Knight's Hall is one of the best-preserved medieval representative halls in Europe and boasts ceilings of 7.30 metres in height.

Please use the public transport system of Thun. You can reach the castle from the railway Station and the landing stage in approx. 15 minutes on foot. Stroll through the old city, up the castle stairs or the stairs leading from the town hall square.
The public parking space City Ost Schlossberg offers space for 310 cars and an elevator up to the castle. The next closest public car parks are City Nord /Grabengut and City West.
