Time as far as the eye can see
The Schadau Park is built like an English garden and is the setting for the Schadau Castle, the Thun Panorama with the oldest oil-painted 360 degrees panorama in the world and the miniature steam train.
The park is located directly on Lake Thun and at the outflow of the Aare river. At this point, a pavilion invites you to watch the ships and animals on the lake. The driveway of the castle is dominated by a stone fountain.
At the entrance of the park is the Scherzligen church with the oldest church tower in the canton of Berne and one of the twelve thousand-years-old churches at Lake Thun.
The Schadau Park is a powerful place and local resort with some 1000-year-old trees.
The park is always open to the public and is managed by the city of Thun.
